The spout has the traditional pout shape for easy pouring. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThere was way back when a piece of wood as part of the handle but they are now traditionally used without as the wood burned when placed over an open fire. The hollow handle doesn't retain the heat like a totally solid one would.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThis is a pan that is thick enough to take really high temperatures that are involved in sugar craft. \u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eYou can use this pan for making candy, jams, sweets or cakes,  this will take enough heat to make caramel or melt sugar to make nougat. A true artisan patissier pan.\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe interior is in good condition, other than wear you would expect from a vintage pan.
