French Antique Copper Daubiere New Atelier Du Cuivre Tin and Polish Stock Boiling Pot Very Copper Pot Statement Piece Braising Casserole

This is an antique pot that is still used today and still doing a fantastic job. This pot was made before the real industrial fabrication and mass production of copper pans. This is handmade 'fabrication a la main'. It is made with separate pieces of copper fixed together in a castellated fashion. There are three sturdy SOLID COPPER handles with copper rivets both securely fixed and look gorgeous. This is a special pan. The top rim has a raised edge traditionally to receive hot coals on the top to ensure completely even cooking, this rim has an iron ring that the copper is hammered over - this is incredibly sturdy. It gives the whole pan integrity and longevity.

Daubiere's are used for making duck 'confit', stew (pot au feu), or sitting on a hearth boiling away, the lid is snug to keep in the heat and the moisture. This can be used on all cooking hobs. (Induction with an induction plate) This has real quality and form. This pan was made together and has stayed together. The lid is tight, there is new hand wiped tin and is snug but easy to remove, there are dents in the rim.

It is in fabulous condition for a usable piece of antique kitchenalia.
The patina on this piece is exceptional. The base has a brushed 'Jex fin' professional finish. The joints are in very good condition.

It has loads of indentations, marks and scratches. This pan has real visual impact. The pan lid is snug, totally as it should be.

This pan has been totally refurbished with new tin and a new shine by Atelier du Cuivre in Villedieu les Poeles. They are the premium retinners in France and have an outlet in Paris 12 too selling copper kitchenware and kitchen equipment. Their 'Atelier' has been a fixture in Villedieu les Poeles for many years, refurbishing copper pots and manufacturing copper utensils and kitchen equipment. A good copper pot like this deserves the best!

This is a pot that has been well used for many, many years and is ready for many, many more.

It weighs just over 4.4 kilos 9 lbs 12.8ozs. It is 1.2mm copper on the base rim.
It is 14 cm high just over 5 1/2 inches
it is 20cm or 8 inches wide
33cm or nearly 13 inches long.
