French Antique Copper 20cm 8" New Tin Saucepan Saute Pan Fitted Splash Lid Iron Handles Copper New Hand Wiped Tin Normandy Kitchen

This is a proper working pan, rough cuisine condition, professional copper pan. It is very old, we think late 1700s or early 1800s the lid is mid 20th century.

This is an early hand forged and hammered antique pan with a vintage fitted lid - we found them together so we kept them together.

On the pan there are three hand cut copper rivets, the handle is forged, the body is hand raised. This is early.

On the lid there are two hammered rivets on the handle which are securely fixed. The vintage lid has been refurbished with new tin lid and is a perfect fit.

The lid has owners marks PL and L

They weigh 2.19 kilos 4lbs 13.5ozs and is 20cm across 8 inches, the pan is 10.5 cm high or 4 1/8 inches. It is made from 1.6mm copper with a new hand wiped tin lining.

This pan and lid have a couple of issues, the 100% food grade tin is in new condition, although the base has dents and is slightly rounded. It is more suited to a gas burner - there is a wobble on a flat surface. This is a pan from before mass production, totally hand made.

There are some pans that we come across that show the constancy and beautiful durability of copper pans, this is one of those pans.
