This is a antique French Copper 'splash lid' that is nearly a foot across - 11 5/8 inches 29.5 cm. This was made around the third quarter of the 19th century to the beginning of the 20thc century.

1.6mm copper - new hand wiped tin lining.

There are ownership initials on the top.

This will cover most French frying pans, big sautes or skillets (or anyone else's) with no trouble! The handle is securely fixed with massive copper rivets and the patina looks stunning when light hits it.

It is an antique piece which shows wear and has surface scratches and a good new hand wiped tin lining. It weighs 1.659 kilos or 3 lbs 10.6ozs and will be posted using our Free tracked parcel post.

This is an amazing thing, a real antique, and not out of place in a modern kitchen. It looks beautiful hanging up and is a really useful item for covering 'spitting' foods such as fish or meat an invaluable item for any great Cook or Chef.

It is an antique item and has many signs of age such as a wavy edge, surface scratches, copper losses and scarring. There is good new tin and 3 solid, massive copper rivets. The handle is hand made and hand hammered wrought iron.
