This is totally hand made, the copper is hand cut, the rivets are hand made the pan has been raised and hand hammered. The spout has the traditional pout shape for easy pouring. 

There was way back when a piece of wood as part of the handle but they are now traditionally used without as the wood burned when placed over an open fire. The hollow handle doesn't retain the heat like a totally solid one would.

This is a pan that is thick enough to take really high temperatures that are involved in sugar craft. 

You can use this pan for making candy, jams, sweets or cakes,  this will take enough heat to make caramel or melt sugar to make nougat. A true artisan patissier pan.

The interior is in good condition, other than wear you would expect from a vintage pan. The patina is exceptional. 
There are minor dents in the base and it is suitable for a gas hob as there is a slight wobble on a flat surface.

This is fully stamped Matfer 1950s-1960s
It is absolutely gorgeous.
