Antique Copper Lechefrite Roasting Pan: French Kitchen Decor

This lechefrite can be used for it's original purpose of catching drips from roasting meat or it can be used for poaching fish or indeed roasting meats itself. It can go under a grill and be used for grilling vegetables or cheese - the uses are endless.

This design has been used since medieval times and is still made today. This is an younger example, it is around early to mid 20th century. It is a hand made piece with the rivets and handles totally hand forged, the patina is exceptional.

The rim has a iron ring to ensure stability, this is in excellent condition.
