This is a antique French Copper 'splash lid' that is 25 cm or 9 3/4 inches across. This is a fabulous lid with new hand wiped 100% food grade tin.

This will cover most French pans (and other countries!) with no trouble! I use a splash lid all the time for spitting meats or chicken and it is great to place over a pan of potatoes to ensure they cook quickly. It is balanced and totally fit for purpose.

This lid will fit the larger fry or saute pans as well as saucepans.

It is a 25 cm or 9 3/4 inches so it fits a 8 1/2-10 inch 22cm-23cm-24cm-25cm sauce pan or pot.

The handle is securely fixed with copper rivets and the patina looks stunning when light hits it. The tin lining is in excellent newly done, condition.

It is an antique piece which shows wear and has surface scratches and darkening, the new hand wiped tin glistens. It weighs 912 grams 2lb 0.1ozs, is 1.25mm copper, a good solid lid.

As this is an antique item, there are surface scratches and small indentations all over the piece and a new tin lined underside, there is front edge ripple, It is marked with 25 and BM.

It is a super size and suitable for a regular domestic cooker or range but is robust enough for professional use.
