This is an vintage French Copper 'splash lid' or 'Lollipop Lid' that is 24.5 cm or over 9 3/8th inches across and from handle to far edge is 44.5 cm 17 1/2 inches.

This has a cast iron handle and two copper rivets.

This will cover most French pans (and other countries!) with no trouble! I use a splash lid all the time for spitting meats, fish or chicken and it is great to place over a pan of potatoes to ensure they cook quickly. It is balanced and totally fit for purpose.

The handle is securely fixed with copper rivets and the patina looks stunning when light hits it.

It is an antique piece which shows wear and has surface scratches, the lovely old lid weighs 721 grams 1 lb 9.4 ozs.

There are surface scratches and small indentations all over the piece and a tin lined underside, there are some indentations on the edge and it is a bit wavy.

It is a super size and suitable for a regular cooker or range. It is ideal for spitting foods in a frying pan or skillet.
